My personal favorite is golfing in the heart of Appalachia, however you can’t go wrong with any of West Virginia’s 83 public courses, which all provide a unique experience that both beginners and seasoned pros can enjoy. From courses that wind through dense forests to those perched on scenic hilltops, every hole feels like it is part of the natural landscape. With a reasonable fee of $14 for both weekdays and weekends, it's an affordable option for those looking for a round of golf. The course offers 18 holes and features Bent Grass greens and Bluegrass fairways, providing an enjoyable playing experience. The earliest tee time is 7:00 AM and the course remains open until 5:00 PM, giving golfers ample time to play. It's worth noting, the course has up to 20 bunkers and tends to aerate the greens in October. However, keep in mind, fivesome groups are not permitted here.
Coonskin Golf Course - Best Public Golf Course in Charleston
